  • Work in small groups (9 people).
  • Exercises on real product cases from around the world.


This is a live interactive course which is based on four tenets:

  1. Smart cohorts where everyone gets a chance to participate, share and learn.
  2. Tackle your real world challenges.
  3. Make learning robust with situation specific mentorship.
  4. All content is based on real world experience working in large companies, startups and as a startup founder.

Gain a complete understanding of the Product Management challenge and a simple, easy and logical process that will enable you to approach any Product challenge.

Agenda:

– The Core Principle of Product Management

– Develop the Product Mindset

– Frameworks to help you become outcome oriented

– An approach that will help you avoid becoming a Postman PM – The PM Manifesto

– Apply the OKR Framework

How this session will look like?

This session is going to be an interactive session where the participants will get to describe their background and specific challenges. We will also cover the core principle behind Product Management and how to apply it and work on developing a Product Mindset. Participants will be introduced to the concept of an OKR. We will walk through multiple examples of applying OKR’s. Participants will work on the OKR assignment and we will review as a group in the second session of the first week

Week 1 – Product Mindset

  • Meeting 1: 1,5h
  • 3 people group homework for minimum 2h
  • Meeting 2: 1.5h

What I will gain/learn?

Become confident in approaching any Product challenge and break it down into a set of person’a and develop simple but accurate product strategy

Agenda:

– Persona Definition. Why are Personas important?

– Difference between a Market Segment and Persona • How to create a persona for an API based product? • The anti-persona

– What is Product Strategy?

– Do you really need Product Strategy?

– Apply the Product Strategy Framework

How this session will look like?

We are going to start this session with a couple of case studies and understand how to break down any product challenge to a set of personas. We will walk through several examples of persona’s for both the B2B and B2C cases. We will then work on building a product strategy for the persona’s. Participants will have a choice to either develop persona’ and product strategy for their own products or continue to develop the case studies presented during the session. We will review the assignments and work in the second session of the week.

Week 2 – Product Strategy & Product Persona

  • Meeting 1: 1,5h
  • 3 people group homework for minimum 2h
  • Meeting 2: 1.5h

What I will gain/learn?

Come away with how the different concepts are inter-related and come together to form a comprehensive roadmap for your product.

– The JTBD framework

– Purpose of building a Customer Journey Map

– Connecting Customer Journey Maps, Persona & Jobs to be done • The purpose of a roadmap

– What a roadmap is not?

– The three types of roadmaps

– The Now, Next, Later Product Roadmap Framework

– How to make space for innovation in a roadmap?

What I will gain/learn?

Be able to create success metrics that work and be able to identify success metrics that don’t work.

Agenda:

– Operational and Growth metrics

– How to define success metrics for your product?

– Apply the HEART Framework to define success metrics

How this session will look like?

We will describe the Product metrics that allow us to measure the success of each item in our roadmap. We will walk through several examples of success metrics for both the B2B and B2C cases. Participants will develop success metrics for their own product or the continue working on the case presented in Session 2. We will review the assignments in the second session of this week.

Week 4 – Success Metrics

  • Meeting 1: 1,5h

This is an open session where the participants will be able to ask any question about Product Management that is specific to their work.

Open interactive session and a safe forum, where participants can ask any questions related to their professional work.

Product Management Masterclass Trainer

Arjun Saksena – Experienced Product Manager. He built products in Yahoo, Adobe, Evernote, etc. He’s the Founder at GrowthSimple which helps Predict User Behaviour to enable targeted growth strategies. Previously, he worked on building a platform to solve growth related challenges at Adobe Creative Cloud and at Evernote. He also was an early member of two successful startups, FastForward Networks, which was acquired for $1.3B by Inktomi and Streamlogics acquired by Thomson Reuters.

Dates

  • Regular Monday and Thursday meetings each week (for 5 consecutive weeks).
  • Time for homework on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Experienced Product Managers with at least 2-5 years of experience will gain the most of this course. The experience can be at large or small companies.
